Limestone’s Melissa Thomas Named Women’s Volleyball
Player of the Week for Second Time this Year

Thomasville, N.C.> Limestone College’s Melissa Thomas (18-15 overall, 16-4 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's volleyball Player of the Week during week number ten in the 2007 season. The outside hitter from Easley, SC led the Saints to a 1-1 week wrapping up the Conference Carolinas regular season. Thomas set a personal career milestone by recording her 1000th kill in game two vs. Queens. The junior had two double-doubles for the week with 25 kills and 16 digs vs. Pfeiffer and 16 kills and 10 digs in the win over Queens.

Thomas and the Saints open Conference Carolinas conference tournament championship play tomorrow as they host St. Andrews. Limestone received a bye as the No. 2 seed while No. 7 seed St. Andrews advanced last night with a 3-1 victory over No. 10 seed Queens.
