Misenheimer, NC - The Saints dropped a five game heartbreaker tonight at Pfeiffer 30-19, 30-23, 28-30, 25-30 and 13-15 despite strong performances by freshman setter Laura Kerrison (Charleston, SC) and sophomore outside hitter Melissa Thomas (Easley, NC). The Saints dropped to 17-15 overall, 15-4 in conference play. The Falcons improved to 19-11, 12-7. The Saints jumped out to a 9-3 lead in game one as the Falcons would get as close as 11 points but the Saints prevailed and took game one 30-19. In game two the Saints took a 5-0 lead but the Falcons continued to push and came within one point at 14-13. The Saints would go on to win by a score of 30-23. Pfeiffer picked up their performance in games three and four after taking a break to honor their seniors between games two and three. Pfeiffer went on to take game three 30-28. The Saints took the lead at 15-13 in game four but the Falcons would prevail 30-25. Pfeiffer took off to an 8-3 lead in game five but the Saints came back with a 6-0 run to take the lead. The teams fought back and forth until Limestone led 13-12. The Falcons wouldn't give up and pressed on for the 15-13 win to take the match. Thomas recorded her tenth double-double of the season with 25 kills and 16 digs while Kerrison picked up a double-double handing out 46 assists as well as 16 digs for the Saints. Ashley Hubbard (Temple, TX) was the only other Saint to record double digit kills with 10. Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, SC) led the defense with 21 digs and served up 6 aces on the night. Courtney Taotoai (Norwalk, CA) also chipped in 16 digs and 5 service aces. Samantha Flannery (Acworth, GA) added 3 blocks in the defensive effort. Limestone will travel to Queens University on Friday for the last
regular season match of the 2007 season. Match time is set for 6:30
