SAINTS VOLLEYBALL WINS 3-0 OVER COKER ON SENIOR DAY

GAFFNEY, SC –The Saints volleyball team defeated Coker College today 3-0 by scores of 30-25, 30-26 and 30-20 as they celebrated senior day honoring their three seniors in the last regular season home match.  Ashley Blackwelder (Fuquay-Varina, NC) Michele Cash (Chesnee, SC) and Ashley Hubbard (Temple, TX) were all honored at the beginning of the match.  With the win the Saints advance to 17-14 overall, 15-3 in conference play.  Coker drops to 16-14, 13-5. The Saints recorded 45 defensive saves against the Cobras in their designated “Dig For The Cure” match to benefit the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.

Melissa Thomas (Easley, SC) led the Saints offense along with Hubbard.  Thomas smashed 17 kills and put down 2 solo blocks and Hubbard chipped in 12 kills along with 2 blocks.  Laura Kerrison (Charleston, SC) ran the offense handing out 37 assists and  served a team high 4 aces.  For the defense, Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, SC) led the “Dig For The Cure” with 14 digs and seniors Blackwelder and Cash picked up 10 and 7 respectively.  Lynn Milam (Summerville, SC) and Samantha Flannery (Acworth, GA) also put down 2 blocks a piece for the defense.

Limestone will travel to Pfeiffer University on Tuesday.  Limestone and the Falcons are scheduled for a 7:00 pm start.
