SAINTS SWEEP ST. ANDREWS

GAFFNEY, SC –The Saints volleyball team defeated St. Andrews College tonight 3-0 (30-23, 30-17, 30-24). Melissa Thomas (Easley, SC) led the Saints with 11 kills while picking up a career high 5 blocks. The Saints advanced to 16-14 overall, 14-3 in conference play, while St. Andrews dropped to 10-21, 9-9 on the season.

Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, SC) led the Saints defensive effort picking up 19 digs and Samantha Flannery (Acworth, GA) added 5 blocks.   Laura Kerrison (Charleston, SC) controlled the offense handing out 26 assists and served up 4 aces.

For St. Andrews, Leah Davidson (Palos Verdes Estates, CA) and Tara Lemieux (Panama City, FL) led the hitters with 13 and 10 kills respectively, while Jaime Hayes (Gulf Breeze, FL) pushed up 37 assists.  Defensively, three Knights recorded double-digit digs as Erin Haugen (Fort Mill, SC) led the trio with 18.  Lemieux and Lindsey Stansbury (Morgan City, LA) added 14 and 11 a piece.  Galina Podolsky (Raleigh, NC) controlled the net for the Knights picking up 5 blocks.  Podolsky also led the team in aces with 3.

Limestone will be in action again tomorrow hosting Coker College at 2:00 pm. and St. Andrews will travel to Augusta, GA for a non-conference match against Augusta State at 1:00 pm.
