LIMESTONE VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS PFEIFFER

GAFFNEY, SC – The Limestone College volleyball team defeated Pfeiffer University 30-19, 30-19 30-27 today in the Timken Gym.  Limestone advanced to 10-3 in conference play and 12-13 overall, while Pfeiffer dropped to 9-5 in the league, 15-9 overall.

Melissa Thomas (Easley, SC) led the Saints recording a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs.  Lynn Milam (Summerville, SC) added a strong performance across the board with 9 kills, 6 assists, 4 service aces, 5 digs and 5 blocks.  Laura Kerrison (Charleston, SC) picked up her tenth double-double on the season with 33 assists and 11 digs.  Defensively, Sam Flannery (Acworth, GA) and Ashley Hubbard (Temple, TX) controlled the net with 6 and 5 blocks respectively. 

“I was really proud of the girls today; they played hard and were determined to win, even after falling behind in game three,”  said Limestone Head Coach Tim Loesch.  “At the beginning of the season we would have gotten our heads down, but today they continued to believe in themselves and their teammates and pushed through for the win” continued Coach Loesch.

The Saints will be on the road Wednesday at UNC-Pembroke, match time is set for 6:30.
