Limestone’s Melissa Thomas Named Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week

THOMASVILLE, NC - Limestone College’s Melissa Thomas (11-12 overall, 9-2 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's volleyball Player of the Week during week number six in the 2007 season.

The junior outside hitter from Easley, SC led the Lady Saints to three straight-set Conference Carolinas victories this week while reaching a career high 24 kills in the victory over Belmont Abbey. 

For the week Thomas averaged 6.75 kills with a .485 hitting percentage with 7.19 points, 2.25 digs, .62 blocks, and .12 assists per game averages.  Currently Thomas and Limestone sit atop the league standings with a half game lead over rival Lees-McRae.  

Limestone will return to action tomorrow as the Saints travel to Anderson, SC to take on the Trojans of Anderson University.  Match time is slated for 6:30 pm.
