GAFFNEY, SC – The Saints volleyball team swept visiting Barton
College tonight 30-10, 30-22 and 30-18. Overall, Limestone now boasts
a 10-12 record while improving to 8-2 in conference play. The Bulldogs
dropped to 2-18 on the year, 1-10 against Conference Carolina opponents.
Melissa Thomas (Easley, SC) once again led all hitters with 11 kills,
while Jennifer O’Keeffe was a close second with 8 on the night.
Laura Kerrison (Charleston, SC) paced the offense by putting up 26 assists.
Defensively, Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, SC) and Courtney Taotoai (Norwalk,
CA) both recorded double-digit digs with 15 and 11 respectively. Ashley
Hubbard (Temple, TX) and Michele Cash (Chesnee, SC) both added 3 blocks
a piece for the defense.
For the Bulldogs, Michelle Walker (Benson, NC) led the team with 4 kills
and 8 digs and Melissa Ritter (Wescosville, PA) picked up 3 kills for
the offense. Kristen Peschock (Statesville, NC) also added 8 digs for
the Bulldogs. Brittany Hunsucker (Jamestown, NC) had 6 total blocks
and 2 service aces, and Macon Harmon (Durham, NC) added 6 assists.
Limestone will return to action tomorrow as the Saints host the Trojans
of Mount Olive College. The teams will take the court at 2:00 pm.
