SAINTS PICK UP CONFERENCE WIN FROM THE KNIGHTS

LAURINBURG, N.C. – The Limestone volleyball team picked up a conference win over St. Andrews Presbyterian College and dropped a non-conference match to Wingate University in the tri-match hosted by St. Andrews. Limestone (7-11, 5-1) swept St. Andrews (7-11, 6-3) 32-30, 31-29 and 30-25 in the first match, and dropped to Wingate (16-1) 18-30, 13-30 and 17-30.


In the win over St. Andrews, Melissa Thomas (Easley, SC) led the Saints with 12 kills on 28 total attacks with 0 errors (.429). Sam Flannery (Acworth, GA) added 8 kills for the offense. Laura Kerrison (Charleston, SC) supplied 29 assists and Courtney Taotoai (Norwalk, CA) served up three aces in the win. Defensively four Saints recorded double-digit digs, as Lynn Milam (Summerville, SC) led the effort with 17; Kerrison picked up 15 as Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, SC) and Taotoai both added 14 a piece. Flannery totaled 7 blocks in the match.

In the loss to Wingate, Candace Robertson (Gaffney, SC) led the offense with 4 kills as Milam took over the setting responsibilities and pushed up 10 assists. Taotoai picked up 11 digs while Mallorie Ward (Taylors, SC) added 10 in the loss.

The Saints will host Queens University on Wednesday at 6:30 in the Timken Gym.
