LIMESTONE VOLLEYBALL DROPS CONFERENCE CAROLINA MATCH TO LEES MCRAE 2-3

GAFFNEY, SC – The Limestone College Volleyball team lost it’s first home match since August 29, 2006, dropping 30-22, 30-23, 25-30, 28-30, 12-15 to Conference Carolina foe Lees McRae. The Saints dropped to 4-10 overall, 2-1 in the conference. Lees McRae advanced to 8-7 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play with a record of 4-0.

The Saints had three players contribute double figures in kills, led by Melissa Thomas’ 23. Ashley Hubbard and Jennifer O’Keeffe added 15 and 10 kills respectively. Defensively, Lynn Milam led the way for the Saints picking up 24 digs while libero Chelsea Anthony was not far behind adding 23. Hubbard and Michele Cash controlled the nets for the Saints, each finishing the match with 5 blocks.

Lees McRae also had three players reach double figures in kills, led by Davina Metti who posted her second double-double of the weekend with 21 kills and 19 digs. Whitney Kiser and Caty Honey each added 15 and 12 kills for the Bobcats, while Lauren Dickover added 56 assists. Kell Bogdon and Dani Usedom led the way defensively with 18 and 17 digs respectively. Katy Legg added 7 blocks in the win.

The Saints will be in action again on Tuesday night, hosting Converse College at 7:00 pm.
