LIMESTONE VOLLEYBALL DROPS TO 1-3 AFTER SECOND DAY OF AUGUSTA STATE JAGUAR CLASSIC


AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Limestone College volleyball team dropped to 1-3 in the second day of the Jaguar Classic hosted by Augusta State. Limestone was defeated by Newberry 3-0 on Saturday morning, 30-20, 30-15, and 30-23. Limestone lost to Augusta State, 3-1 (30-32, 30-28, 17-30, 27-30) to finish out the day.

In the loss to Newberry, Jennifer O’Keeffe led the Saints offense with 6 kills on 15 total attacks and Chelsea Anthony led the defense with 13 digs. Laura Kerrison added 19 assists and 8 digs in the effort.

The Saints picked up the pace in the second match against host Augusta State but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Jags. Melissa Thomas and Jennifer O’Keeffe paced the offense combining for 33 kills, and Laura Kerrison picked up 34 assists. O’Keeffe rallied the defense at the net with 4 block solos and 2 block assists while Anthony once again dominated the back row with 22 digs, followed by Courtney Taotoai who picked up 14 digs.

The Saints return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Greenwood, SC to take on Lander University at 7:00 PM.
