LIMESTONE VOLLEYBALL PICKED SECOND IN CONFERENCE CAROLINAS PRE-SEASON POLL

Thomasville, N.C.- The Limestone College volleyball team was picked second in the Preseason Coaches poll as announced by Conference Carolinas today.  The coaches dubbed Lees-McRae the top ranked team in the poll with seven first place votes.  Limestone and Lees-McRae split the regular season title in 2006 with an 18-2 conference record.

The Lady Saints are looking forward to a great year after one of the best seasons in school history in 2006. The Lady Saints return ten players from their 2006 roster. While Limestone lost three talented players in 2006 All-Conference honorees Alison Hamilton, Julie Oleson, and Amber Wise, the team  returns several strong players including middle hitter Ashley Hubbard, defensive specialist/outside hitter Chelsea Anthony, and sophomore middle/outside hitter Melissa Thomas, a 2006 All-CVAC honoree . The team also has a talented freshman class which includes setters Laura Kerrison and Randi Hunton, and middle/outside hitter Jennifer O'Keefe.
              
Anderson University was picked to finish third in the conference while Coker and Pfeiffer rounded out the top five.

Limestone will travel to Augusta State this weekend, taking on Clark Atlanta at 10 a.m. and Florida Tech at 6 p.m. on Friday.  On Saturday, the Lady Saints will play Newberry at 8 a.m. and finish up with Augusta State at noon.
