CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College Director of Athletics Dr. William B. "Bee" Carlton announced the hiring of Tyler Davis as PC's new women's tennis coach on Friday. Davis replaces Bobby McKee who left PC after 26 years to become the Director of Tennis/Head men's and women's tennis coach at Lenoir-Rhyne College.
"Coach Tyler Davis will be an outstanding addition to our athletic department and women's tennis program," remarked Carlton. "After carefully considering and making a difficult decision among very well-qualified candidates, I am confident that Coach Davis is exactly the right person to build on Coach McKee's outstanding foundation of championship tennis at PC and to lead us into our future of Division I competition.
"Coach Davis has a strong record of success at Limestone College in recruiting exceptionally talented student-athletes and building championship-caliber teams. We welcome Coach Davis to our staff and can't wait for him to get started here."
Davis comes to PC from Limestone College where he has served as the head men's and women's tennis coach for the last three seasons.
"I'm honored to become the head coach of the women's tennis team at Presbyterian College," said Davis. "The entire tennis program at PC has a rich tradition which I am honored to now be a part of. I am very excited about working with the returning players and look forward to welcoming new players in the fall and spring. With PC's reputation and the jump to NCAA Division I, I am certain that I will be able to add top players in the state, southeast, national and international levels."
