AUGUSTA STATE SWEEPS LIMESTONE TENNIS

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Augusta State swept the Limestone Saints Saturday in a non-conference tennis matchup at the Emmie Rector Tennis Center.

The Jaguars are currently ranked No. 19 in the ITA National Division II poll, while the Lady Jaguars are ranked No. 26.

For the men, the Saints picked up three wins in singles play with Phillippe Hogan (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), Christian Munn (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Christian Warnholz (Queretaro, Mexico) all winning their flights. In doubles action, Thomas Olliveier (Caen, France) and Munn picked up an 8-6 win over the Jaguars. The Saints fell to 5-4 overall with the loss.

The Lady Saints went 0-6 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles to fall to 8-1. Lee Cribb (Spartanburg, S.C.) and Jessie Griffin (Alpharetta, Ga.) picked up the only win at the #3 double flight, 8-5. With the loss, Limestone drops to 1-3 on the season.

Limestone will return to action Tuesday, traveling to Salisbury, N.C., to take on Catawba College at 3:00 p.m.
