| MOUNT OLIVE ENDS LADY SAINTS’ CVAC RUN |
HARTSVILLE, S.C.—Mount Olive College ended the Limestone softball team’s hopes of the CVAC tournament championship as the Trojans defeated the Lady Saints 10-1. Limestone’s record stands at 27-29 after today’s results. Limestone had two wins earlier in the day, one against Lees-McRae and the other against Pfeiffer. In the day’s first game, Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, S.C.) batted in Brittany Owen (Pasadena, Md.) for the 1-0 win in the ninth inning against the Bobcats. Jennifer Casement (Peterborough, Onatario, Canada) earned the win for Limestone. Anthony led Limestone at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Owen, Jessica Brown (Inman, S.C.) and Jordan Goodman (Missaugua, Onatario, Canada) were each 1-for-4. Pitcher Lisa DeMarr (Alpharetta, Ga.) picked up the 2-0 victory for the Lady Saints against the Falcons as Casement got the save. Keisha Thompson (Union, S.C.), Brown and Candice Evans (Lexington, S.C.) were each 1-for-3 for Limestone and Courtney Guerrieri (Union, S.C.) was 2-for-2. Evans took the loss for the Lady Saints against Mount Olive. Limestone’s hitters combined for just three hits in the game. |
