HARTSVILLE, S.C.—Three Limestone College softball players were presented with All-Conference honors at the 2007 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference tournament banquet on Thursday. Pitcher Jennifer Casement (Peterborough, Ontario, Canada) earned First Team honors, as shortstop Christina Woolgar (Orangevale, Calif.) and outfielder Keisha Thompson (Union, S.C.) were named Second-Team All-CVAC. Casement had a 5-3 record and posted a 1.96 ERA in CVAC play this spring. She ranks third in the CVAC with 46 strikeouts in conference play. For the season, Casement leads Limestone with a 2.99 ERA and has 10 wins. She also has struck out 125 batters. Woolgar led the Lady Saints with a .457 batting average in CVAC play and scored 10 runs and recorded five RBIs, seven doubles, and a triple. She also posted a .652 slugging percentage. Woolgar recorded 16 putouts and 17 assists this season against CVAC opponents. For the season, Woolgar is second on the team with a .356 AVG . She also has 18 RBIs and 14 doubles in 41 games played. Thompson had four stolen bases in CVAC play this season and ranks second on Limestone’s team with a .373 AVG in conference action. She has recorded 15 putouts and scored 11 runs against conference opponents. For the season, Thompson has a .331 AVG, 27 runs scored, and is 18-for-23 in stolen base attempts. The Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference All-CVAC Teams were determined by vote from each head coach of participating institutions. Nominations are collected and then voted upon by ballot and tallied to determine Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, All-CVAC First Team, and All-CVAC Second Team.
