| LADY SAINTS SOFTBALL GETS A WIN AND A LOSS AT BARTON |
WILSON, N.C.—The Limestone College softball team picked up an 8-0 win against conference-rival Barton on Friday afternoon, but the Bulldogs edged the Lady Saints 4-3 in extra innings in game 2. Limestone stands at 9-7 in the CVAC and 20-23 overall after today’s results.
Candice Evans (Lexington, S.C.) took the win in the first contest after pitching the complete game for the shutout. Christina Woolgar (Orangevale, Calif.) was 2-for-3 with two doubles as Jessica Brown (Inman, S.C.) was 1-for-3.
Jennifer Casement (Peterborough, Ontario, Canada) came in to relieve starter Lisa DeMarr (Alpharetta, Ga.) after the first 6 1/3 innings in the second contest. Casement was tagged with the loss after Barton scored in extra innings for the 4-3 victory.
Brittany Owen (Pasadena, Md.) was 2-for-3 in game 2 as Woolgar was 2-for-4 at the plate.
Limestone travels to Hickory, N.C., tomorrow as the Lady Saints visit Lenoir-Rhyne at 1 p.m. |
