| LADY SAINTS SOFTBALL GETS TWO WINS OVER NORTH GREENVILLE |
TIGERVILLE, S.C.— The Limestone College softball team evened its overall record to 13-13 with two wins over North Greenville on Saturday. The Lady Saints won the first contest 3-1, and the second 12-4. Limestone got off to a good start as the Lady Saints scored two runs in the first inning of game 1. North Greenville scored its only run of the game in the fourth as Limestone had another run in the sixth for the 3-1 win. Lady Saint center fielder Keisha Thompson (Union, S.C.) was 2-for-4 as she scored a run and had a stolen base. Second baseman Christina Woolgar (Orangevale, Calif.) and Lisa DeMarr both recorded RBIs. Jennifer Casement (Peterborough, Ontario, Canada) got the win for Limestone in game 1 as she struck out 10 batters. Limestone was 14-of-35 at bat in game two for the 12-4 victory. Catcher Jordan Goodman (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) had five RBIs in the contest as she was 2-for-4 with two homeruns. Woolgar had three RBIS as she was 3-for-5 at the plate. Right fielder Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, S.C.), left fielder Lauren Robertson (Cincinnati, Ohio), and Thompson also batted in runs. Woolgar also had a home run. North Greenville jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning, but Limestone had a run in the third to cut the Crusaders’ lead to one. However, NGC scored a run in the bottom of the inning to add to their lead. The Lady Saints responded with two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, and five in the sixth. North Greenville’s only other run of the game came in the sixth as Limestone added another point to the score in the seventh for the 12-4 win. Limestone’s Lisa DeMarr (Alpharetta, Ga.) was credited with the win as Ashley Arlick was tagged with the loss. Limestone travels to Jefferson City, Tenn., to play Carson-Newman tomorrow at 1 p.m.
