SOFTBALL SPLITS 1-1 ON DAY TWO OF EAST CAROLINA TOURNAMENT

 

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Limestone College softball team went 1-1 on day two of the East Carolina Tournament, hosted by UNC-Pembroke and Francis Marion. The Saints defeated California University of Pennsylvania 3-1 in game one. Jordan Goodman (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the Saints. In game two, the Saints fell to Adelphi, 2-6. The Saints now stand at 14-20 overall.

Emily Wallace (Winchester, Ky.) was credited with the win in game one, improving to 7-8 on the season. Wallace gave up two runs on seven hits.

In the nightcap, Limestone was defeated by Adelphi, 2-6. The game was called in the top of the seventh inning due to inclement weather. Wallace took the loss dropping to 7-9. The Saints scored their two runs on home runs by Goodman and Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, S.C.). Both players were 1-for-3 in the game.

The Saints will host Queens University on Tuesday, March 25, in Gaffney, S.C. The conference doubleheader is slated to start at 2 p.m.
