| LADY SAINTS 1-1 ON FINAL DAY OF CATAWBA TOURNAMENT |
SALISBURY, N.C.-- The Limestone College softball team lost to Kutztown, 9-0, on Sunday at the Catawba College tournament, but recovered to shutout Fairmont State 4-0 in the day’s second game. Limestone’s overall record stands at 5-9 overall. Candice Evans (Lexington, S.C.) took the loss against Kutztown, and Jennifer Casement (Peterborough, Ontario, Canada) also pitched in the loss. Lindsay Gladden (York, S.C.) was 2-for-2 at bat, while Brittany Owen (Pasadena, Md.) was 2-for-4. Lisa DeMarr (Alpharetta, Ga.) had the win for the Lady Saints against Fairmont State. Owen had a homerun in the victory, as Jessica Brown (Inman, S.C.) hit a double. Keisha Thompson (Union, S.C.) had a stolen base and scored Limestone’s first run of the game. Limestone hosts Presbyterian on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lady Saints Field in Gaffney, S.C. |
