BOTH LIMESTONE SWIM TEAMS FINISH 1ST AT CATAWBA BOO BASH RELAYS

SALISBURY, N.C.—The Limestone College men’s and women’s swim teams finished first of five at the Catawba Boo Bash Relays on Saturday morning. The Saint men broke four school records and won every event but one. The Lady Saints won five events.

Craig Jordens set a new Limestone record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.8 while Anders Melin posted a record time of 52.7 in the 100 backstroke. The 400 medley relay team of Melin, Chad McKenzie, Matt Parsonage, and Craig Jordens had a time of 3:33.42 for a new record. Jordens, Melin, Tariq Turner, and Chad set a top time of 3:14.6 in the 400 freestyle relay. The only event the Saints did not win was the 500 freestyle crescendo in which Limestone finished second.

In the women’s event, Donna Wickham and Renee Pouchet had a time of 3:02.71 to win the 300 backstroke relay. Wickham, Carmen Adams, Jessi Sullivan, and Jenna Arington won the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:16.08. Adams, Ines Speranda, and Marija Grubic took first in the 1500 freestyle relay (16:48.62). Wickham, Sullivan, Speranda, and Adams won the 400 individual medley relay (4:25.77), and ARington, Pouchet, Grubic, and Wickham got a victory in the 400 freestyle (3:48.94).

Limestone hosts St. Andrews on Saturday, October 27 at 1 p.m. at the Timken Aquatic Center in Gaffney, S.C.
