ST. ANDREWS SHUTS OUT LIMESTONE, 2-0 |
LAURINBURG, N.C.—The Limestone College Saints soccer team suffered its second conference defeat of the season as the squad lost to St. Andrews, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon. St. Andrews climbs to 7-2-2 overall and 3-1 in Conference Carolinas play as Limestone falls to 5-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the conference. The Knights’ Justin Garton scored on a penalty kick in the first half. Garton scored again on a breakaway in the waning minutes of the second period as Limestone pushed up the field in an attempt to equalize. Saint goalkeeper Ryan Robinson (Snellville, Ga.) had two saves for the match as St. Andrews' Nick Stevens had six. Each team recorded 13 shots. Limestone had seven corner kicks while the Knights had four.
