SAINTS SOCCER TIES WITH QUEENS

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The Limestone College men’s soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie with conference-rival Queens University on Tuesday night. The Saints stand at 3-1-1 overall (0-1-1 Conference Carolinas) after tonight’s result, while Queens posts a record of 2-2-3 overall (0-0-2).

Queens recorded a goal early in the first half, but the Saints' Ali Benson (Hull, England), assisted by Liam Brown (North Lanarkshire, Scotland), scored late in the second half to send the game into overtime.

"I'm proud we fought back after being down," said Limestone Head Coach Eric Alsop. "We had more opportunities to score but couldn't find the back of the net."

The Saints had 13 shots to Queens' 7. Each team and four corner kicks. Limestone goalkeeper Ryan Robinson (Snellville, Ga.) had two saves as Royals' keeper Dan Williams had seven.

Limestone travels to Wilson, N.C., to face Barton College on Saturday at 7 p.m.
