LIMESTONE MEN’S LACROSSE SWEEPS CVAC WEEKLY AWARDS

THOMASVILLE, N.C.—Limestone College swept the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week award for the third time this season as Justin Haworth (Deer Park, N.Y.) and Mike Piccin (Agawam, Mass.) earned the weekly honors, as announced by the CVAC office on Wednesday.

Justin Haworth, the Offensive Player of the Week, led Limestone's offense with six goals as the Saints defeated then-ranked No. 8 St. Andrews 13-9 on Saturday. He tallied eight points during the contest as he also dished out two assists. He also picked up two ground balls. Haworth is tied for first on the squad with 29 goals, 15 assists, and 44 points this season. He has scored three power play goals in 2007.

Defender Mike Piccin helped Limestone to a 13-9 win against then ranked No. 8 St. Andrews on Saturday to earn Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Piccin recorded seven ground balls for the contest. He has played in all 10 games and scooped up 20 ground balls while the helping the Saints to a team GAA of 8.89.
