LIMESTONE SWEEPS CVAC MEN’S LACROSSE WEEKLY AWARDS

THOMASVILLE, N.C.—Limestone College’s Marty Ward (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Nick Chandler (Holbrook, N.Y.) were named Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference men’s lacrosse Players of the Week, as released by the league office on Wednesday.

Chandler, the CVAC’s Offensive Player of the Week, won 10-of-14 face-offs against No. 7-ranked Adelphi on Saturday night for a .714 face-off percentage. He posts a .568 face-off percentage for the season as he's helped initiate the Saints attack by winning 29-of 51 face offs.

Ward garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors after being solid in goal against No. 7-ranked Adelphi as he recorded 14 saves to hold the Panthers to only seven goals for the contest. Ward has 64 saves in four contests this year. He also earned the Defensive Player of the Week award on February 28.
