LIMESTONE SWEEPS CVAC GOLF MONTHLY AWARDS |
THOMASVILLE, N.C.—Limestone College golfers Katie Clayton (Lyman, S.C.) and Paul Butler (Gaffney, S.C.) were named Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference Golfers of the Month for March, as released by the league office on Thursday.
Clayton got her spring off to a great start as she finished in first place at the Upstate Classic on March 5. She followed up that performance with a fourth-place finish at the Lady Bear Invitational the next week. Clayton has five top 10 finishes this season, including three top 5 finishes. She has won individual honors two times this year.
Butler had two second place finishes during the month of March, one at the Upstate Classic and another at the Accusport Intercollegiate. He was tied for first place at the conclusion of the Accusport Intercollegiate, but Lenoir-Rhyne's Kent George beat Butler in the playoff to earn individual medalist honors for the tournament. Butler posts a 71.8 stroke average for the season. He has finished in the top five in five tournaments this year. |
