LIMESTONE GOLF FINISHES IN 5TH AT ACCUSPORT INTERCOLLEGIATE; BUTLER TAKES SECOND

CONOVER, N.C.— Limestone College’s Paul Butler (Gaffney, S.C.) notched his sixth top 10 finish this season as he took second place at the Accusport Intercollegiate hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne College on Tuesday. The Saints finished fifth in the 10-team field at the par-72, 7180-yard Rock Barn Golf Club.

 

Butler was tied with Lenoir-Rhyne’s Kent George at the end of day as both golfers scored 148. George won individual medalist honors in a playoff. Butler fired 71 in the second round of the tournament and 77 yesterday.

 

The Saints scored 635 (325-310) for their fifth-place finish. Lander won the event (305-310 615), as Lenoir-Rhyne was second (313-306 619). Barton was third (321-303 624), while Pfeiffer was fourth (312-321 633).

 

Chris Taylor (Houston, Texas) tied for 20th (80-81 161), Chris Etheredge (West Columbia, S.C.) tied for 31st (79-87 166), Bryson Jones (Graniteville, S.C.) tied for 33rd (90-77 167), and Wally Brennan (Brewster, Mass.) tied for 41st (89-81 170).

 

Limestone competes in the BMW Collegiate on April 8-10 in Greenville, S.C.
