MEN’S GOLF 12TH AFTER ROUND 1 OF AASU/SOUTHBRIDGE PIRATE INVITATIONAL

SAVANNAH, Ga.—The Limestone men’s golf team is in 12th place after the first round of the AASU/Southbridge Pirate Invitational on Monday. The Saints shot 311 in the first round of the tournament, held at the par-72, 6922-yard Southbridge Golf Club.

USC-Upstate, Georgia College and State University, and Lander University are tied for first place with 294. Valdosta State and tournament host Armstrong Atlantic State University are tied for fourth with 295.

Limestone’s Paul Butler (Gaffney, S.C.) fired 73 in the first round and is tied for eighth. Chris Taylor (Houston, Texas) is 37th with 77, Bryson Jones (Graniteville, S.C.) is 50th with 79, Tyler Smith (Spartanburg, S.C.) is 60th with 82, and Chris Etheredge (West Columbia, S.C.) is 63rd with 101.
