LIMESTONE DROPS EXHIBITION CONTEST TO KAZAKHSTAN, 86-81 |
GAFFNEY, S.C.—The Limestone College men’s basketball team dropped an exhibition contest to the Kazakhstan Astana Tigers on Thursday 86-81 at the Timken Center. The game was close with 16 lead changes and 11 ties and was decided in overtime. The teams entered halftime with the score tied 33-33. Each squad had 42 points in the second half forcing the game into overtime. Kazakhstan outscored Limestone 11-6 in overtime. Marques Williams (Rochester, N.Y.) led the Saints with 22 points, while Andre Coleman (Clermont, Fla.) chipped in 14 points. Kenny White (Columbia, S.C.) had 13 as Roderick Wilson (Jacksonville, Fla.) had 10 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. Coleman grabbed six rebounds for the Saints. Three of Kazakhstan’s players tallied 17 points: Rustam Yargaliev, Yevgeni Isakov, and Anton Ponomarev. Limestone travels to Greeneville, N.C., to face East Carolina University (NCAA Division I) on Saturday, November 10 at 2 p.m. in an exhibition game. |
