LIMESTONE MEN’S GOLF FINISHES 8TH AT NCAA DIVISION II REGIONAL

POOLER, Ga.— The Limestone College men’s golf team ended the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional with a three-day score of 1018 for eighth place at the par 72, 7,066-yard Greg Norman designed Savannah Quarters Country Club on Wednesday.

Belmont Abbey won the Atlantic Regional, as Columbus State took home the Southeast Regional title. Both squads will advance to the 2007 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships in Allendale, Mich., on May 22-25. The Crusader were the lone team from the Atlantic Regional to advance, as the Southeast Region had three more teams move on the to national championship: Lander, USC-Upstate, and Georgia College & State University.

Paul Butler (Gaffney, S.C.) tied for 12th with a three-round score of 245 (83-82-80). Bryson Jones (Graniteville, S.C.) took 36th, as Wally Brennan (Brewster, Mass.) and Chris Etheredge (West Columbia, S.C.) tied for 38th. Chris Taylor (Houston, Texas) finished 41st.
