LIMESTONE MEN’S GOLF 8th AT NCAA ATLANTIC REGIONAL AFTER ROUND 2

POOLER, Ga.— The Limestone College men’s golf team shot 331 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional on Tuesday at the par 72, 7,066-yard Greg Norman designed Savannah Quarters Country Club. Limestone’s two-day score of 674 (343-331) puts the Saints at eighth in the eight-team field.

Belmont Abbey posts a two-day score of 631 (314-317) for the lead. Barton College is 10 strokes behind in second (330-311 641), as Pfeiffer University is in third (338-308 646).

Paul Butler (Gaffney, S.C.) continues to lead the Saints with a two-round score of 165 (83-82) and is tied for 17th. Chris Taylor (Houston, Texas) and Bryson Jones (Graniteville, S.C.) are tied for 30th. Chris Etheredge (Spartanburg, S.C.) is tied for 34th while Wally Brennan (Brewster, Mass.) is tied for 38th.

Play concludes on Wednesday with a single round beginning with tee times at 8:00 a.m. Tomorrow the champions from the Southeast and the Atlantic region advancing to the 2007 NCAA DII Men's Golf Championships in Allendale, Mich., on May 22-25 - as well as the next three lowest schools, regardless of region.
