LIMESTONE CONTRIBUTES TO ALABAMA DISASTER RELEIF

The Limestone College Athletics Department made a substantial donation to Hearts With Hands, an organization assisting the victims of the February tornadoes in Alabama. Following the disaster, the Saints athletic teams collected items needed to aid those who had lost their homes in the disaster.

Donations were accepted at athletics events on March 7-16. The majority of the donations came from direct team efforts and strong encouragement from coaches.

“This is the largest donation we have received in quite some time,” said Virgil Hollifield, director of Hearts with Hands. “You guys did well.”

The Limestone Athletics Department would like to thank everyone who donated goods to the cause, especially the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams, men’s and women’s soccer teams, and the softball squad.

Items are still needed in the disaster relief efforts. Contributions can still be made by contacting women’s soccer Head Coach Tina Weaver at (864) 488-8365 or tweaver@limestone.edu.

Donations may be left at Weaver’s office located in Fort 225C.
