LIMESTONE BASEBALL LOSES AT No. 11 USC-AIKEN |
AIKEN, S.C.— The Limestone College baseball team dropped a road match to No. 11 USC-Aiken, 5-3, on Wednesday night at Hernandez Stadium. Limestone falls to 15-14 with the loss. The Pacers jumped out to the lead with three runs in the first and two in the second. The Saints scored their first run in the third, as outfielder Zach Watkin’s (Albany, Ga.) singled to score catcher Kyle Brewer (Gruetin-Laager, Tenn.) Limestone tried hard to rally in the ninth. With outfielder Josh Izokovic (Shelby, N.C.) on second base, designated hitter Tyler Midgett (Summerville, S.C.) hit a home run to score two runs. The Saints didn’t score again as USC-Aiken came away with the win. Shane Suter (Woodberry, Pa.) took the loss for Limestone. Evan Denton (Dallas, N.C.), Chris Zimmerman (Navares, Fla.), Tyler Anderson (Kershaw, S.C.), and Daniel Phillips (Gaffney, S.C.) also pitched. Limestone hosts Pfeiffer University for three CVAC contests this weekend at Bob Prevatte Field in Gaffney.
