LIMESTONE GETS 12-2 WIN OVER ANDERSON |
GAFFNEY, S.C.—The Limestone Saints had four homeruns in their 12-2 win over Anderson University in a non-conference contest on Monday afternoon at Bob Prevatte Field. Limestone improves to 9-10 for the season as Anderson stands at 14-9. The Saints got off to a solid start as the team scored three runs in the first inning, four in the second, two more in the third, and one run in both the fourth, fifth, and eighth innings. Anderson’s only runs came in the sixth and seventh. Chris Zimmerman (Navarre, Fla.) got the win after he pitched the first eight innings and struck out three batters. Alex Dergins (Morganton, N.C.) finished out the game for Limestone. Anderson’s Bryson Graydon was tagged with the loss. Limestone was 12-for-40 at bat. Catcher Kyle Brewer (Gruetin-Laager, Tenn.) was 3-for-4 with two homeruns. Outfielder Zach Watkins (Albany, Ga.) had a homerun and two RBIs for the Saints, while shortstop Dylan Anthony (Lincolnton, N.C.) was 2-for-4 with a homerun and two RBIs. Second baseman Daniel Lydon (White Plains, Md.) was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Designated hitter Adam McSwain (Fallston, N.C.) was 2-for-5 with an RBI. First baseman Phillip Soden (Inman, S.C.) had eight putouts and hit a triple for an RBI. Left fielder Joey Asis (Gastonia, N.C.) was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Anderson’s Kyle Lewis (Irmo, S.C.) was 2-for-4 with a homerun, while Ed Johnson was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored. Limestone hosts Ohio Valley on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at Bob Prevatte Field. All of the Saints’ games against the Fighting Scots will begin at 2:30 p.m. each day.
