LIMESTONE BASEBALL VS. PRESBYTERIAN RESULTS |
CLINTON, S.C.— The Limestone baseball team improved to 3-1 overall with a 5-1 victory over Presbyterian College’s baseball complex. The Blue Hose fall to 2-3 for the season. Ryan Maxa (Sarasota, Fla.) picked up the win for Limestone as he pitched seven innings and recorded six strikeouts. Daniel Phillips (Gaffney, S.C.) and Chris Zimmerman (Navarre, Fla.) each pitched one inning for the Saints. Philips had two strikeouts. Designated hitter Adam McSwain (Fallston, N.C.) recorded two RBIs for Limestone and led the team with three hits. Third baseman Taylor Cook (Houston, Texas) and catcher Tyler Midgett (Summerville, S.C.) each batted in one run. Zack Watkins (Albany, Ga.) and Midgett recorded doubles. Midgett and first baseman Philip Soden (Inman, S.C.) had eight putouts on the day, with shortstop Dylan Anthony (Lincolnton, N.C.) getting six assists and two stolen bases. Limestone scored two runs in the first inning. Presbyterian answered with its lone run of the game in the bottom of the same inning. The Saints went on score a run in each the second, third, and fourth innings for the 5-1 win.
The Saints head to Augusta, Ga., this weekend to face Augusta State of the Peach Belt Conference.
