LIMESTONE OBTAINS HIGHEST JOBY HAWN FINISH EVER
GAFFNEY, S.C.- Limestone College set a personal best in this year’s Joby Hawn Cup standings as the Saints narrowly missed a top five finish. The Saints were just a half a point behind Anderson University and finished in sixth place. The standings were released on Wednesday by the Carolinas Virginia Athletic Conference.
The Saints enjoyed a lot of athletic success this year, as several teams acquired national rankings throughout the season. The Saints women’s lacrosse team won the regular season championship and are currently ranked fifth in the country, the men’s and women’s tennis teams were nationally ranked for the first time in school history, and the women finished in second place in the CVAC this year, the teams highest finish ever. The softball and baseball teams enjoyed success as each advanced to the tournament championship before falling in the finals. The volleyball team was vastly improved this year and won 19 games. The men’s and women’s basketball teams had strong showings in the CVAC this year. The men advanced to the CVAC Final Four, while the women’s hoops team tripled their win total from the previous season.
The Saints will look to carry over their success into next year as the teams look forward for another run at the Cup.
