McKEONE SIGNS WITH LIMESTONE
GAFFNEY, S.C.—Zach McKeone of Marietta, Ga., has signed to run cross country and will compete in wrestling at Limestone College, announced Saints cross country head coach Kevin Vees. McKeone ran and wrestled for four years at Riverwood High School.
McKeone finished 17th in the Georgia state cross country meet last fall, and was also a state qualifier from 2003-05. He was named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution All-North team and Riverwood High School’s Outstanding Runner of the Year in 2006. In 2004 and 2005, he received the Coaches Award for cross country and was Riverwood’s 2005 Outstanding Distance Runner of the Year. As a freshman, he was named Newcomer of the Year for cross country.
He had an outstanding high school wrestling career, as he was named All-North County “Wrestler of the Year” by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Riverwood High School’s “Wrestler of the Year” four times. McKeone earned NHSCA All-American honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. He was the varsity team captain as an upperclassman and posts an overall career record of 191-14.
A member of the National Honor Society and Dean’s List honoree, McKeone plans to major in Education at Limestone.
